Greece got to alive win 2-1 failure Nigeria red card at World Cup

Greece first scored win to beat ten players Nigeria 2-1 in a thrilling encounter victory at a World Cup 2010 first record on Thursday.It also kept their World Cup dreams alive in a match that hinged on a first half red card for the African team.

The Greeces claimed their first World Cup win by rallying to beat 10 players Nigeria 2-1, Vassilis Torosidis poked home a loose ball in the 71st minute after a mistake from Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to make history for Greece, The Euro 2004 champions, who had lost all three matches in the 1994 finals.


Nigeria broke the deadlock on 16 minutes through midfielder Kalu Uche, who swung in a free kick from near the left corner of the penalty area that eluded everyone and crept in past a bemused Alexandros Tzorvas.But the Super Eagle hopes took a major hit when Sani Kaita was sent off on 33 minutes after kicking out at Torosidis, the Nigerian leaving the pitch in tears.


As half time approached Greece coach Otto Rehhagel threw on forward Georgios Samaras for defensive midfielder Sokratis Papastathopoulos as the Greece, renowned for their defensive minded play, seized the initiative.The pressure paid off when Salpingidis netted Greece's first ever goal in a World Cup finals after his shot deflected into the net off Nigeria's Lukman Haruna to make it 1-1 at half time.

As the second half wore on the game became stretched and in a dramatic spell Theofanis Gekas was denied by Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama before Nigeria raced upfield with Ayegbeni forcing Tzorvas into a smart save and Obasi missing a clear follow up chance

Enyeama, who won his second successive man of the match award despite the mistake on the winning goal, then made a string of saves in the second half. Joseph Yobo said, ''It looks like even if we win the next one, we are not going to qualify, so practically we are out of the tournament,''.


Despite the defeat the Super Eagles retain a mathematical changes of reaching the knockout stages.

Argentina too strong to handle victory 4-1defeat South Korea

Argentina strongly win the match beat 4-1 with against South Korea over as Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain scored a hattrick at the World Cup 2010 and Diego Maradona's are on the verge of a last 16 place at the World Cup.

Marodona said,'' I've to commend my boys for the great job they have done, the only way South Korea would have made our lives difficult would have been if we had allowed them to,'' we gave them too much ball to control to made a mistake like the match and we were never worried about them and never upset.

Messi was excellent throughout as Argentina raced into a 2-0 first half lead thanks to a header from Higuain and an own goal by Korea's Park Chu Young and ''this match was very inportant victory for us,'' Higuain said. Messi shot the ball then Monaco forward Park turned into his own net on 17 minutes before Higuain header his first goal on 33 minutes.

Lee Chung Young gave his side hope with a goal at the of the first half to make it 2-1 and Higuain made sure of the win two goals in four minutes late in the second half time. ''We played well, but there were some things we lacked in our game and we missed opportunities,''said South Korea coach Huh Jung Moo.


Jung pulled off two great saves in quick succession early in the half : first from Higuain at close quarters after a good break from Di Maria, a constant treat to the Korean defence, then Tevez after a long range shot. Higuain settled the contest after Messi beat two defenders in the box and squared for the Real forward to fire into an empty net on 76 minutes while Messi again played a hand in the fourth goal on eighty minutes to seal the victory.

When he jogged off in the eighty two minutes to loud applause from the Agrentina fans, 22 years old Higuain's  reply  in kind could well have been by midfield Messi who created his goals and Messi is the strongly best player of all Argentina team and this World Cup 2010.
